Warming Up on the Driving Range

Start with wedge, build up, finish back with a mid-iron. Leave 10 min for putting green.

Do

  • Start with short clubs (wedge or 9-iron) and work up to longer clubs
  • Hit only as many balls as time allows — quality over quantity
  • Finish with a few driver swings, then back to a mid-iron
  • Leave the range in time to visit the putting green before your tee time

Don't

  • Don't pound drivers the whole warm-up — you'll tire yourself and build tension
  • Don't stay on the range until your tee time without hitting the putting green

Beginner-safe script

“No script needed on the range.”

Why it matters

Warming up loosens muscles and builds rhythm. Skipping warmup makes the first 3 holes rough.
