Ball Above Feet (Sidehill Lie)

When the ground slopes upward to the right, putting the ball above your feet.

Grip

Choke down 1–2 inches to compensate for ball being higher.

Stance

Wider for balance. Stand more upright than normal (ball is closer to you).

Ball position

Same as normal for the club.

Posture

Stand a bit closer to the ball. Club might be too long for the effective playing distance.

Swing thought

Expect the ball to pull/hook left (for right-handers). Aim right to compensate.

Contact goal

Clean contact with a controlled draw/pull trajectory.

Common mistake

Forgetting to aim right and missing left into trouble.

One-minute drill

On the range, find a sidehill lie (or simulate with a thick mat). Hit 5 shots and notice the ball-flight direction naturally moving left.

This is a beginner refresher, not professional instruction — see a PGA pro for swing changes.
