Ball Below Feet (Sidehill Lie)
When the ground slopes away to the right (right-hander), putting the ball below your feet.
Grip
Full length of the club — resist the urge to choke down.
Stance
Wider for balance. Flex knees more to get down to the ball.
Ball position
Same as normal for the club.
Posture
More knee flex. Bend more from the hips. This is a challenging posture to maintain — practice balance.
Swing thought
Stay in your posture throughout the swing. Expect a fade/push right. Aim left to compensate.
Contact goal
Clean contact despite awkward posture. Ball will tend to fade right.
Common mistake
Standing up during the swing to 'get to' the ball — causes a topped shot. Stay in your flex.
One-minute drill
Practice the address position at home — bend more than you think you need to and hold it for 10 seconds.
This is a beginner refresher, not professional instruction — see a PGA pro for swing changes.
