Halfway House
Common Phrases
Explained Simply
A small snack and drink station, usually located between hole 9 and hole 10.
Example
“At the turn (between holes 9 and 10), stop at the halfway house for a hot dog and Gatorade. Takes 5–10 minutes.”
Why it matters
Great morale booster. Just be aware that stopping can affect pace — keep the stop brief or skip if the group behind is close.
Common beginner mistake
Taking 20 minutes at the halfway house and slowing down the entire field behind you.
