Interlock vs. Overlap Grip
Equipment
Explained Simply
Two common ways to connect your hands on the club. Interlock = pinky and index finger entwined. Overlap (Vardon) = pinky rests on top of index finger.
Example
“Try both and hit 20 balls with each. Stick with whichever feels more secure and produces straighter shots.”
Why it matters
There's no 'correct' grip for beginners — comfort and consistency matter most.
Common beginner mistake
Changing grips mid-round. Pick one and practice it consistently.
