Albatross (Double Eagle)
Scoring
Explained Simply
Finishing a hole in three strokes LESS than par — also called a double eagle. Almost always a 2 on a par-5, or a hole-in-one on a par-4.
Example
“You hole your second shot from the fairway on a par-5 = 2 strokes = albatross.”
Why it matters
One of the rarest feats in golf — far rarer than a hole-in-one. Most golfers go a lifetime without making one, so it's pure bragging rights.
