Fairways Hit
Scoring
Explained Simply
The number of times your tee shot comes to rest in the fairway on par-4s and par-5s (par-3s don't count). Often shown as a fraction like 8/14.
Example
“You hit 10 of 14 fairways during your round — your fairways hit percentage is about 71%.”
Why it matters
Fairway shots are easier than rough or trees. Tracking this stat shows whether driving accuracy is hurting your score.
Common beginner mistake
Reaching for driver on every par-4 and par-5. A 3-wood, hybrid, or long iron off the tee often raises your fairways-hit and lowers your score.
