Tee Box
Course Areas
Explained Simply
The designated starting area for each hole where you place your tee and hit your first shot.
Example
“You stand between the two colored markers (tee markers) and tee up your ball within two club-lengths behind them.”
Why it matters
You must tee off from within the tee box — the area between the tee markers and two club-lengths behind them. Different colored tees = different yardages.
Common beginner mistake
Teeing the ball outside the tee markers. There's a 2-stroke penalty in stroke play.
