Tee Markers
Course Areas
Explained Simply
Colored markers on the tee box that define where you must tee up your ball. Each color (e.g., black, blue, white, gold, red) represents a different set of tees and total course yardage.
Example
“You play the white tees at 6,200 yards while your friend plays the blue tees at 6,700 yards. Same course, different starting points.”
Why it matters
Picking the right tees keeps the course fun and the round moving. Playing tees that are too long for your distance is the #1 reason rounds drag.
Common beginner mistake
Playing tees that are too far back to prove a point. Match your tees to how far you actually hit the ball, not your ego.
