Tee (Wooden/Plastic Peg)

Equipment

Explained Simply

The small wooden or plastic peg you push into the ground to elevate the ball for your tee shot on each hole.

Example

“On the tee box, push a tee into the ground, place your ball on top, and tee off. For irons, use a shorter tee or none at all.”

Why it matters

Tee height affects trajectory and contact. For drivers, tee it high so half the ball is above the clubface. For irons, low or flush to the ground.

Common beginner mistake

Using the same tee height for every club. Tee it high for driver, low or zero for irons.
