Draw
Shot Types
Explained Simply
A controlled, slight right-to-left curve (for right-handers) that adds distance and roll. The 'good' version of a hook.
Example
“Pro hits a draw off the tee — ball starts slightly right of center, gently curves left, lands in the middle of the fairway and rolls out.”
Why it matters
A draw is a coveted ball flight because it tends to travel further than a fade due to reduced backspin. Goal for improving players.
Common beginner mistake
Trying to hit a draw before mastering a consistent strike. Straighten out contact first.
