Pull
Shot Types
Explained Simply
A shot that goes straight to the left without curving (for right-handers). Caused by an out-to-in swing path with a square face.
Example
“You swing and the ball goes dead left, straight — that's a pull.”
Why it matters
A pull is distinct from a hook (which curves). Both go left but for different mechanical reasons.
Common beginner mistake
Overcorrecting by aiming right, which can lead to slices or inconsistent contact.
