Stableford
Game Formats
Explained Simply
A scoring format where you earn points based on your score relative to par. Bogey = 1 point, par = 2, birdie = 3, eagle = 4. Highest points wins.
Example
“You make a bogey (1 pt), then a par (2 pts), then a double bogey (0 pts). Your running total: 3 points after 3 holes.”
Why it matters
Stableford is beginner-friendly — big blowup holes score 0 instead of ruining a gross score. Popular in casual and club competitions.
Common beginner mistake
Not knowing the point values and losing track during the round. Write them on the scorecard.
