Swing Speed (Club Head Speed)
Equipment
Explained Simply
How fast the club head is moving at impact, measured in mph. Beginner driver swing speeds usually fall somewhere around 55–80 mph.
Example
“A 75 mph swing speed with good contact produces about 160–170y of driver carry for many beginners.”
Why it matters
Knowing your swing speed helps you choose the right shaft flex and club setup.
Common beginner mistake
Thinking you need a 'stiff' shaft because it sounds better — most beginners need 'regular' or 'senior' flex.
