Sets marketed to women are generally lighter, a little shorter, and more flexible. For plenty of swings that is exactly right. For others it is not, and the only way to know is to hit a few. Start from how far you carry the ball, which hand you play, and what you are getting ready for.
Add your measured carry distances as you learn them, and the club calls come from your swing rather than an average of somebody else’s.
Borrow or rent before you buy
A first outing is a rental or a borrowed half-set. A driver or a wood, a couple of irons, a wedge, and a putter will get you round comfortably. The full fourteen can wait until you know you are staying. Any brands named here are named for identification — nothing on this site is sponsored or an affiliate link.
What a fitter actually looks at
Swing speed, length, lie angle, grip size, and sometimes wrist-to-floor as a starting clue for length. Those are educational inputs. GolfReady does not store body measurements in this product. A qualified fitter should see you hit balls.
Distance charts are not personal
Published beginner ranges are averages, and averages belong to nobody in particular. Add the yards you actually carry, club by club, as you learn them. Until you have measured a club, leaving it blank is better than guessing — an empty field is honest, a wrong number quietly costs you shots.
Two lists in GolfReady
The Bag that AI Caddie reads is the clubs you carry and the yards you hit them. Your golfer profile is the place for brand and model notes. Keeping them apart means changing a shaft does not quietly rewrite your distances.
Common questions
Should I buy ladies flex?
Only if your swing speed calls for it. “Ladies” is the name for the most flexible shaft in a range — right for slower, smoother swings and wrong for faster ones. A fitter measures your speed in about twenty minutes and answers it properly.
Where do my distances come from?
From you. Add the carry you measure for each club and the app works from those numbers — it never fills them in from an average on your behalf.
