Glossary
Plain-English golf terms.
Fried egg
A ball half-buried in a bunker, with the sand piled around it like the white of a fried egg. Tough lie — open the clubface and hit firmly through the sand.
Fairway
The short, mown grass between tee box and green. The intended landing area for your tee shot.
Mulligan
A do-over. Not allowed in real competition, but common in friendly rounds. Only take one — and don't ask for two.
