Golf terms explained simply.
Provisional Ball
A second ball hit from the same spot when you think your first ball might be lost or out of bounds. Saves time — you don't have to walk back if the original is indeed lost.
Out of Bounds (OB)
Areas outside the course boundary where play is not allowed, usually marked by white stakes or lines. If your ball goes OB, you take a penalty.
Lost Ball
If you cannot find your ball within 3 minutes of searching, it is officially lost. You must return to where you last played from and hit again with a 1-stroke penalty.

Do I need to know anything about golf to use this?
No. GolfReady was built for people who don't. Every term, club recommendation, and tip is explained simply. But experienced golfers get great value too.
Is the free tier actually useful?
Yes. The full etiquette guide, half the first-round checklist, the quick-question AI Caddie wizard, and 10 AI Coach questions per month are free forever. Free also includes five photo, describe, or chat uses per month, tee-time booking links, and nav customize. What works offline?
Some core reference screens and locally saved checklist or round data are designed to stay useful after they have loaded. AI Coach, Caddie chat and photo help, course search and maps, local tournaments, support, account sync, and purchases need an internet connection. Work saved offline syncs after you reconnect.
How do I cancel?
Bought in the iPhone app? Cancel in your App Store subscriptions — Settings → Manage takes you there. Bought on the web? Settings → Manage opens your billing page, where you can cancel in a few taps. Either way, Premium stays on until the end of the period you paid for.
What devices does it work on?
Any modern iPhone or Android phone. Open your browser, add it to your home screen, and it works like a native app — no app store download needed.
Is GolfReady for junior golfers and families?
Yes. Adult beginners remain at the center, and GolfReady also helps junior golfers — especially ages 13–18 — plus parents or guardians and high school players. It is designed for golfers 13 and older and for parents supporting younger golfers. There is no separate Kids Mode or independent under-13 account.
Do I need my own clubs to play golf?
No. Most driving ranges and many courses rent clubs, so you can try golf before buying anything.
